You can be an affiliate for different companies and advertise for them on your site, but you will have to drive traffic to your site somehow.
You’ll need to set up keywords on your site describing every single thing that can be found on your site. You’ll need to submit your site to all of the search engines.
As far as the affiliate thing goes: commission junction, ccbill, plimus.com, clickbank, etc. Do a search for internet affiliates.
That is one way to earn money online and it really does work IF you have site traffic.
